Dr Dayo Olomu Appointed On The Southwark Diocesan Board of Education

The UK education board appoints Dayo Olomu, the Vice-chair, Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, South London Branch, United Kingdom
Dr Dayo Olomu, has been appointed to the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education.
A former Chairman, Central Association of Nigerians in the UK, Chief Bimbo Roberts-Folayan, said in a statement on Monday.
Olomu is a UK-based Nigerian Human Resources practitioner, corporate trainer, and inspirational speaker.
The Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, which is both a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity, is chaired by the Revd Jonathan Clark, the Bishop of Croydon.
The BoE acts as an advisory body for the 106 Church of England primary and secondary schools/ academies in the Southwark Diocese and supports chaplaincy in the higher education colleges and universities.
With the appointment, Olomu will join a team of BoE directors to support the development and provision of education in the Church of England schools and academies in the Diocese. The schools include 92 primary schools, one foundation school and 13 secondary schools.
Olomu, with other BoE directors, will work in partnership with the twelve local education authorities that fall within the Diocesan boundary and with other education providers to deliver on their mandate.
In relation to its schools, the Board has particular responsibilities in the areas of religious education and collective worship, the development and maintenance of school buildings, the promotion of the Christian distinctiveness of its schools and school admissions, according to the statement.
Commenting on the appointment, Olomu noted, “I am humbled by the appointment. As an individual who is passionate about promoting excellence in education both locally and nationally, I have a firm belief in continued learning, through improving knowledge and skills, as very essential in attaining high levels of competence and excellence in life.”
With experience spanning over 20 years in HR, coaching, community development, media and public relations and others, Olomu is expected to add value to the Board in the areas of leadership, , negotiation, stakeholder management, strategic planning, project management, human resource, transformational change and organisational design in a large, complex organisation. and project management, among others.
