Chi Onwurah the British Nigerian Labour MP for Newcastle Central hosted Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa the SSA to the President Of The Federal Republic Of Nigeria on Diaspora & Foreign Affairs at Newcastle University for a town hall meeting with focused on facilitating dialogue to foster strong diaspora partnerships to bring about change in Nigeria.

Hon Abike praised Chi for her leadership in the community and being able to facilitate the engagement. She spoke of the immense potential that lies in the diaspora and the presidents willingness to engage the diaspora, tapping into its human, material, intellectual and financial resources that will play a critical role in Nigeria's development.

Chi inturn commended the Nigerian government for its fight against corruption and Presidents fantastic response to the fantastically corrupt statement may by the conservative prime minister of British David Cameron. She recognised the great work Nigerians are doing in the UK and that the behaviour of a few should not be used to generalized the many outstanding achiever. She also praised Hon Abike congratulating her for her appointment and praising her "energy and commitment" in her work in and for the diaspora.
They agreed to work together and with the larger Nigerian community in the UK to find ways of bring about the much needed change Nigeria needs.
